Notes about this historic site
1 A late Bronze Age bronze spearhead found with a metal detector (August 1984) and donated to the Museum.
2 The spearhead is leaf-shaped with a lanceolate blade and is 95 mm long and 24 mm wide at its broadest point. The final section of the socket is missing but the absence of loops below the blade suggests that it was peg-holed. Probably of Burgess’ Pennard Phase, c1200 BC or later.
4 Dating given as Late Bronze Age.
