Notes about this historic site
1 Bronze celt in the Bloxam collection resembling in form that figured in Sir John Evans’ Bronze Implements. Also bronze palstaves.
2 The two objects referred to above are almost certainly the same implement – a winged celt with stop ridges. This was found c1864 when draining in Wolvey and was exhibited to the Society of Antiquaries in May 1865.
