Notes about this historic site
1 2 Colehaven Trust Almshouses gardens
Almshouses built facing across Sumner road in 1930 and 1934.
Lovie describes the gardens as a good example of 20th century design on a smaller scale and the hard landscaping as being of particularly high quality with finely cut and shaped stone paving.
The north block has simple topiary shapes, lawns and beds with seasonal bedding.
The south block also has simple topiary and a central archway leading to a courtyard.
Recommendation for inclusion on the local list by Lovie.
