I’m looking forward to seeing a new film adaptation of Vera Brittain’s Testament of Youth,  to be premiered 15th October, but did you know of her Warwickshire connection? Some of her ashes are buried in the graveyard of St James the Great at Old Milverton. They are buried there with her husband, the political scientist and philosopher Sir George Caitlin, and Sir George’s father, George Caitlin. More of her ashes were scattered over the grave of her brother Edward Brittain, on the Asiago Plateau in Italy. Wikipedia only mentions the ashes scattered over her brother’s grave.
