I always thought this was The Woad House? I lived in Fenny from 1947 to 1951 but had family living in the village until 10 years ago.

It looks as though you are right Liz – the most recent large-scale OS map calls it ‘Woadhouse’

It was my mum’s family home, for a while in the ’40s. Quite magnificent if the photographs are anything to go by, and great place for a garden party by all accounts.
