Quarter Sessions Depositions
If you have an hour or more to spare each week you could help us index our vast (150,000 pages) collection of depositions, or witness statements, made during Warwickshire court cases held from 1829 to 1900. At present these documents are poorly listed, the information in them is difficult to find, and you have to visit the County Record Office in person to see them.
We will give you access to your own bundle of statements and ask you to find specific information in each one, to type into a spreadsheet that we will also provide. This information will eventually become a searchable online database that anyone can use for their research, be it family, local, or social history.
