Hello, I love this site and look at it often.

I have a question that has played on my mind since childhood and wondered if you could help? As a child some 30+ years ago I used to love walking and playing in priory park (still do), and on many occasions went walking with my dad and the dog for hours. My dad had a host of stories about Warwick that fascinated me as a kid. He used to point to a tree in Priory Park and say, “just stop and look at that tree for a minute, that son is the oldest tree in Warwick. Imagine the sights it’s seen.”

I can still hear his voice now.

The tree in question is an old black locust tree or false acacia tree (robinia pseudo acacia), situated near the record office and the old priory building. It certainly looks very old but I’ve always wanted to know if he was right and if he wasn’t what is the oldest tree in Warwick? I’ve attached a picture of this, my favorite tree in the hope that someone can help me find out more about it. Thankyou
