I am illustrating a book on elms from around the world. I have a section on the English elm (U procera). My elm expert in Edinburgh has been guiding me on elms found here in the UK, and we have come across your historical Wooton elm that was a sport or mutant called argentea variegata (the variegated silver form of the English elm).

I have a classic photo of this elm growing in the hedge but its in black and white. I was hoping someone might have a colour photo of it even in passing from a car! Or a pedestrian walking down the lane perhaps. The elm was still alive before the coming of Dutch Elm Disease.

If you can help that would be great.
