I am very interested in the Friends’ Meeting House,Atherstone.

My sixth Great Great Grandfather was Christopher Smalley who was a non-conformist Minister removed from Atherstone in about 1722 to Chesterfield, Derbyshire. In my research of Christopher, I have seen references to him being at Long Street Atherstone between 1708-1722. On your site, you state that this meeting place was built c1729.

These statements do not make sense to me! Do you know whether there was another place of worship for non-conformists at this site at that time? I am trying to build a picture of Christopher and his family for my family history.

Hoping you can reply to me,
Merry Christmas
