Warwickshire Library and Information Service
Warwickshire Library and Information Service offers library services to anyone living or working in Warwickshire. Membership is free. Services include access to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction material for all ages in large print and audio. Books in languages other than English are available along with e-books and e-audio books. Books can be ordered and renewed on-line, 24 hours a day.
Material reflecting Warwickshire’s past and present can be found in libraries across the county but particularly in libraries with Local Studies Collections. Alcester, Atherstone, Bedworth Coleshill, Kenilworth, Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby, and Stratford all have special Local Studies Collections. Material collected includes, books, photographs, ephemera, historical runs of local newspapers, cuttings, dissertations, illustrations, reports, census information, parish registers, surveys and programmes etc
In addition, Nuneaton Library has the George Eliot Collection, which has been described as “the best collection of secondary source materials this side of the Atlantic” and also the Warwickshire Local Collection which is the largest county collection of printed material about Warwickshire.
Access to the Ancestry website is also available to members for free in libraries.
