The Warwickshire Lute: An Upcoming Event

Warwickshire Lute Podcast, by Adam Busiakiewicz

The Market Hall Museum may have re-opened to the public back in February, but work continues to enhance the visitor experience. In addition to the behind the scenes work, and the regular displays that you can pop in and see, there are many events that take place at the museum – these events can add a little insight into the collections and the objects on display.

Events

One of these events will see Adam Busiakiewicz give a talk on the Warwickshire Lute. Adam has released a podcast as a prelude to the event, which you can watch on this page. In this podcast, he interviews Sara Wear (Curator of Human History at the museum) about the museum, and the background as to how the lute came to feature in the redesigned galleries. In Adam’s words:

There is something rather special on display upstairs at the museum. Not many people know that the Warwickshire Museum owns an incredibly rare 16th century lute. It’s such a pleasure to see this, and other, absolutely beautiful musical instruments on display again.
