My, we’re going multimedia. Thanks to Jam-AV Media Productions Market Hall Museum now has its own film on YouTube. Jay and his friendly assistant Gaz visited the museum back in January and spent the day filming the exhibits, staff, our Arty Tots and grandparents group, and also a local macular degenerative group as they explored the museum with our new braille map.
Old favourites
The film features our old favourites Oisin the Deer, the Bear and Bees. You may have seen Jon Radley’s posts on this very website and now (if you haven’t already) you can put a face to the name as the Curator of Natural Sciences talks you through the themes of the museum. There’s more besides about the refurbishment and plans for future. If you’ve thought about volunteering then this may be the film for you too, as you can find out about the opportunities available. You might even find references to this website while you’re watching but, even better, it also features some lovely cakes in the café!
New town trail – The Great Fire of Warwick.
And there’s more. As part of the Our Warwickshire project the education team have produced a Great Fire of Warwick family trail around the town. The trail takes you on an hour’s walk taking in eight local sites. These include the Lord Leycester Hospital, St Mary’s Church and Tink-a Tank – you need to do the trail just to find out what that is!
Using our Twitter museum mascots Oisin the Deer and his nephew Ruairi as your tour guides you can find out how the fire left its mark on the town.
