My great grandparents lived in the village all their lives and my father who has sadly passed away spent much of his childhood and years as a young man here. We always visited when young and my grandfather who died in the war has his name on the church wall. My father also had a plaque made and planted a tree in his father’s memory. My family name is Hall. My great grandmother’s family came from the area also her maiden name was Johnson…..the picture of the row of cottages from 1920 posted I believe is where my great grandparents lived as the Elm tree is just visible which was in their back garden.
