Rugby. Signal gantry at the old railway station

Large railway signal gantry at the old station, Rugby, after it had been duplicated with sky arms in the late 1890s in readiness for the viaduct for new Great Central Railway London Extension. 1890s [It has been suggested that the whole gantry was built at the same time in readiness for the GCR girder bridge which would have blocked the view of the original signals.][The gantry was built as one unit and incidently was paid for by the GCR.] | IMAGE LOCATION: (Warwickshire County Record Office)
