This house was actually called Iverley House (23 Hillmorton Road) taking its name from the area (between Stourbridge and Kidderminster) the Loverock family came from prior to arriving in Rugby in the 1840s. It was occupied until the late 19th century by John Loverock, the ownership then passing to Mr Donkin. In 1920 it was purchased by Mr. Lewis Loverock and he and his wife (and later widow) remained in it until his widow’s passing in the early 1960s. It stood empty before being demolished in the mid ’60s.
This is Stanley House, Barby Road, not Iverley House. All David Holton’s information is correct except it’s the wrong house. I have got a copy of the correct house.
Christine – please do post a picture of the correct house for us to see.
