Rugby. Matthew Holbeche Bloxam
![Matthew Holbeche Bloxam was born in Rugby in a house which stood at the corner of Sheep Street and Lawrence Sheriff Street. He practised as a solicitor in Warwick Street but was better known as an antiquarian and wrote many papers on this subject. Comments
the photograph – and at least on other – was taken by E H Speight, of Rugby, on 12 May 1880, on Bloxam’s 75 birthday. This fact is written on a Cabinet print of the photograph, now held in Leamington Spa Library which has Bloxam without a hap. The copy in Rugby library collection has him wearing the top hat.
