The picture was taken by my great grandfather William Dewar 1846-1917 who was a keen amateur photographer. The child on the horse is Frank West’s eldest daughter, my mother Eliza Mary Agatha, later Mrs Mary Gollin 1910–1998. The horse is likely to be John. This horse was killed in the Somme battle with his owner.
