My Dad grew up in Comyn and told many a story about his time there. Nice to see pictures of where my dad grew up as they knocked them down many years ago.
My wife, Thelma (Tew) lived all her life from birth (1938) at No. 12, until we got married in 1962. Her father was Frank Tew who, after serving in the RAF in the War in India and Burma, was a tinsmith with Rolls Royce at Coventry and Ansty. Her mum was Phyllis (Queenie) née Claridge from Warwick. Frank and Queenie lived there until the Council compulsory purchased the houses “for demolition” and were rehoused in a flat in Waterloo Street.
My Great Grandmother grew up on Comyn Street, they were the Baker family, which we know so little about. Would love to hear from anyone who has info about them
We came from India in 1967 and lived at no 11
My dad Mr Swarn Singh Paddan was already here and had bought the house and called us over ( my mum and my brothers )
We lived opposite the Tew family
We left in 1974 when they purchased the street for demolition we have a lot of memories of the street
Get in touch if anyone wants any info
We came from India in 1967 and lived at no 11 (pictured) The Ryman family (the milk men ) were still there

This has just popped up in my Facebook feed. As you say many happy days indeed. None of us had much but we made our own fun. Loved spending time with your family and your lovely mum
