GWR Locomotive 4069 had an interesting history. GWR considered it a Star class locomotive and it was originally named ‘Margam Abbey’ when built in January 1923 as part of the final batch of Star class locomotives, but was quickly renamed ‘Westminster Abbey’. In Oct 1939 it was rebuilt as a Castle Class and renumbered 5089, retaining the same name.
