Would love to know more about this photo, where it was taken and in particular the trophy they are holding and have presumably won.
It looks to have been played for many years before judging by the small winners plaques on the base.

The player in the centre back row wearing a cap is my grandfather, Donald England Stokes, who was goal keeper.
I have a gold medal he received (dated 1922-23) which he received. He had it mounted and attached to the chain of his pocket watch which has been passed to me.
Unfortunately the medal is small and does not name the competition for which it was awarded.
I have asked my father if my grandfather ever explained what the medal was for, but he was not given this information.
