For a long time I have pondered just exactly from where this photo of Broom Street (now Victoria Road), Bidford was taken. With the aid of ‘Google Street View’ I have now identified the houses shown and from approximately where it was taken: The !st house on the left is (the current) No. 34 Victoria Road. The lone house on the right, with black/white Gable, is (the current) No. 29 Victoria Road; ie: the next house after ‘Victoria House’ which is set back further and not in view. The persons in the road appear to be outside No 40? Victoria Road (the house that for many years has had 2 large topiary peacocks in its front garden.) The house in the farthest distance is “The Elms” No 60, Victoria Road. All these houses were built approximately between 1901 & 1906.
Victoria House set back and out of view was built in 1898.Many of these houses had dates on them.
