I lived here for 40 years, in fact my mother told me she was carrying me in her stomach when my parents acquired a lease on the property.
My parents were the first commoners to live here. Prior to my parents, Lady Helen lived here, Lord Hartford’s mother, not the current Lord Hartford (Harry). I’m not sure why but the door with a porch was taken away, the front door was on the other side when we resided there. Funny this photo shows what was my bedroom window, far left top Sash window. Many fond memories, it was actually very upsetting to leave, it really was the only home I knew. Too big in hindsight for us though. It has 23 rooms, if you only count a room with a door, not counting halls and entrance halls, plus a 4 room annex too. Six stables, we added 4 stables, standing on apparently 7 acres. I will never forget it any miss the house still, left in 2011.
