The picture is of my Great Grandfather Ned Bates, his grandson Ron Smith (FR Smith) remembered him as a great character, massive man with a thick leather belt around his waist.
His daughter Eliza Bates later went on to run the Red Lion at Corley Moor through WWII with her husband.
