Early 17th century mansion built on site of medieval priory. Formal gardens made by Henry Wise who bought the house in 1709. Simple square lawns with topiary replaced by parterre.
Lovie describes this as ‘perhaps the most significant early 18th century landscape in Warwickshire’.
Remodelled in early 19th century. Formal gardens (removed by time of Lovie’s report, 1996/7). House sold and moved to America 1925.
