Notes about this historic site
2 Air photographs indicate an alignment of earthwork and this is visible on the ground. The alignment was examined in the field and the bank appears to survive to a height of about 1m. Only very slight traces of an E ditch were apparent.
3 An evaluation trench was carried out at the proposed site of a wind turbine, adjacent to the Hob’s Ditch. No archaeological finds or features were identified. A series of levels were taken across the bank and ditch of the Hob’s ditch.
