Grendon ice house

Description of this historic site

Well preserved ice house made from uniform red bricks with domed ceiling. Buried under a thin covering of earth. Situated in woods alongside Farm Lane.

Notes about this historic site

1 Description of red brick structure with domed ceiling covered with earth which is believed to be an ice house. Situated in woods aongside Farm Lane. Low and narrow arched entrance approx 3.5m long by 1.5m igh. Main body of the structure is between 3-4m in diameter and possibly as high as 5m although difficult to estimate as it has been used as a dump for household waste. Article undated.
