Trial trenching revealed evidence for a cobbled roadway of Medieval date. It was situated to the north of Marton Bridge.

1 Trial trenching revealed a cobbled roadway to the north of Marton Bridge on the floodplain. This could have been leading to an earlier ford or bridge, no dating evidence was retrieved but the surface seems likely to have been Medieval.
