Atherstone House Histories, File 19

C105-F55

The Atherstone House History Plan, 1786.
Warwickshire County Record Office reference CR2511/21

In 1547 AD C105, C106 and C107 appear to have been one burgage called the ‘garret houses’ with a rent of 4d. The abuttals suggest that this comprised the whole block between Butcher Row and Bakehouse Lane. By 1591 this one burgage had been split into three. C105 was a ½ burgage and C106 and 107 were each ¼ burgage. However, each of the three properties paid 4d in rent. Between 1677 and 1717 Darby Lane becomes Bakehouse Lane or Lake. Derby Holt was the narrow street, which is today known as Derby Lane.
