Comments
This find would perhaps help to verify the original course of the Fosse Way. There are many reasons to believe that Brinklow Main St. is on the Roman Fosse Way. The straight line from the end of that road to Bretford would be a straight line very close to that find.
The ‘ribbon’ development of Brinklow village meant that the Fosse Way deviated at some time to a paralell rote approximately 600 metres away to the east.
