I worked at Clear Hoooters assembling car horns for four years before I got married. In the factory there was also a moulding shop for air vents and the 725 shop for finishing off.
Before Clear Hooters the site was the home of Pickerings Hat Factory which was famous for its chimney which could be seen from across town. The road it was on was called The Leas and so where the new houses have been built is called called Linden Lea because of a the lime trees.
After Clear Hooters was knocked down the site became the first Tesco, which was eventually knocked down to become the new Tesco, which opened in about 2013.
