William Wakefield Hodgkins married Susannah Read and ran this pub with their daughter Annie as barmaid. Their son William left to run The Theatre Vaults pub in Coventry. Their other son Ralph is remembered on the WW1 cross in The Garden of Remembrance, Old Town, S-u-A.
