Spring Herb Workshop
06 February 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Market Hall Museum
Join us for this informative, hands-on workshop, with soapmaker and herbalist Katie Beswick, as we make “kitchen herbal” preparations including balms to help us embrace Spring with energy and vitality as well as boosting our immune system with the help of our native medicinal mushrooms. Learn how to identify and gather the herbs needed to make remedies using vinegar and honey to extract the precious healing constituents. As Spring approaches and once again the plants emerge to cover the land, we will learn how to make the most of these resources – harvest, dry, store and use our foraged bounties.
The World Health Organization estimates that 80% of the world’s population presently use herbal medicine for primary health care. In England, much of the herbal knowledge of our ancestors has been lost and many of us have no idea that our gardens and hedgerows contain many amazing healing plants just waiting to be rediscovered. Happily, the tides are changing and this workshop is guaranteed to give you a new outlook, enthusiasm and curiosity for the precious wild areas all around us.
Cost, £30.00 including all materials. Click the link for tickets.
