Anne, Countess of Warwick’s Papers. Seances, Sketches and Secrets…

at Warwickshire County Record Office

Archives are places where century-old secrets are kept, many still waiting to be carefully unpicked and revealed. One such archive, which hasn’t been thoroughly researched since its owner’s death in 1903, is that of Anne Greville, 4th Countess of Warwick. Anne was a remarkably energetic and talented artist, who played a leading role in the redevelopment of Warwick Castle’s interiors after the disastrous fire of 1871. Alongside her artistic pursuits and correspondence, evidence shows that she was also interested in contacting the dead. Join Adam Busiakiewicz, a PhD researcher who has been making all sorts of discoveries in Anne’s archive.

Cost £7.50. Follow the link for tickets.
