Arlescote is part of the parish of Warmington, near to the south-eastern border of Warwickshire. The hamlet is situated on Edge Hill, and the Battle of Edge Hill itself took place very nearby. In the tenth century the land was owned by Préaux, a Norman abbey, and subsquently passed through the hands of a number of English families.
