    Fabulous picture, so many memories brought back. Be interesting to know who kept the shops in Leicester Road.

    My grandad had a shop at 17 Leicester Street. Originally Pickards Boot and Shoe Shop before WW2 but then expanded to be a ladies outfitters as well in the fifties. It’s on the left hand side of the street looking down towards the Market Place.
    Site now occupied by Domestic and General Insurance.
