Baxterley Post Windmill
Baxterley Post Windmill was built in 1793. It had an open trestle, four common sails, ladder and tailpole.
It had ceased working by the 1880s and was demolished in 1969, with the main post being used in the restoration of Danzey Green Windmill (originally at Tanworth but now at Avoncroft Museum of Buildings, Bromsgrove). This windmill can be seen working most weekends, weather permitting.
Comments
I remember seeing the shell of Baxterley Mill still standing, probably about 1940. It stood just across from Baddesley Colliery yard, by the lane to Wigston Hill Common.
