Medieval market at Wolvey
The Medieval market at Wolvey was granted to the Abbot of Combe in 1327. The abbey had held land in Wolvey since at least 1235. The former market place is called the Square today.

3 Charter granted for Wednesday market on 10th March 1326 by Edward II to Abbot and Convent of Combe. To be held at the manor. Fair charter vigil feast morrow of Mark the Evangelist (25th April) granted 10th March by Edward II to Abbot and Convent of Combe. To be held at the manor. Fair continued until 1830.
