Our Warwickshire Community Workshops

February 2016 onwards

During the Market Hall Museum closure period, Heritage and Culture Warwickshire (HCW) will deliver five community engagement programmes across the county. These programmes will explore Warwickshire’s heritage and culture (past, present and future) through a range of creative making and storytelling activities.

We want to celebrate the diverse voices of Warwickshire, promote Warwickshire’s heritage collections and broaden participation and engagement with HCW.

Free workshop programmes

From February 2016 we be delivering a series of free workshop programmes in Atherstone, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick District and South Warwickshire, inviting local community groups and individuals to come and take part. We want to create a series of co-curated community exhibitions to display in the newly refurbished Market Hall Museum, that will showcase local people’s stories, memories and reflections of Warwickshire. We will also gather stories as digital records to share here, on the Our Warwickshire website.

We have appointed two artists to deliver the workshop programmes as part of the Our Warwickshire Community Engagement project. Storyteller Dave Pickering and Visual Artist Ruth Spaak – and you can read more about our artists in the next Community Workshop posts.

We hope that you will come and take part in one of our free workshop programmes. Please follow the link to our events page, to find out when and where the Our Warwickshire community workshop programmes are taking place!
